I’ve Made a Pivot in Midlife, I Needed To…
I’ve made a pivot. And it’s one I needed to make.
After more than 25 years in strategic communications, content strategy, and consulting — I’ve stepped fully into something new: A life driven by writing, creating, and building intellectual property my own terms.
In 2025, I shifted from producing content for others to building a creative business around my own ideas. My latest project, 'A Best Life After 40', is a health, wellbeing and self-leadership framework designed for people who want to thrive, not just coast, in midlife and beyond. It's perfect for individuals, teams and workplaces.
This pivot hasn’t been linear — or easy. There’s risk in change, especially after building businesses, and a long and steady career. But there’s also reward: creative freedom, fresh energy, and a renewed sense of meaning.
In 'The Five Containers of a Best Life After 40', my second creative project, I write about the importance of Curiosity — staying open-minded, adventurous, and willing to learn. Curiosity is what fuels reinvention. It’s how we stay relevant, connected, and fully alive as the decades roll on.
This post is the start of a series about what I’ve learned in this transition — the highs, the humbling moments, and the creative breakthroughs. I’ll be sharing more soon. In the meantime, check the link in my bio to get a copy of the eBook.
For now, I’d love to know:
Have you made a pivot in your career or life after 40? What helped you take the leap?
